Thanks, Katie! I just sent your page to two current students who I think would be very inspired by what you're doing. Thanks for spreading the word!

Hi Katie! I was so glad to see you joined. How did you hear about the site? Sounds like you have a great job and about to get a master's degree...that is wonderful. Congratulations!

About Me:
Currently I serve as the Multimedia Coordinator for the Mountain West Conference, which is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo. Currently, the athletic teams of nine schools compete in the MWC: including Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, TCU, Utah, Wyoming, and UNLV.

I finished my graduate studies in June 2008, earning a master's of education degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington.

I earned my bachelor's from the j-school in May 2004, and while pursuing my degree (in both the print and PR sequences), I worked for three years for Wolf Pack Athletics as a sports information, marketing and development assistant (among other roles.) I served as a founding member, vice president of marketing/advertising, and later president of the Blue Crew. I was also heavily involved as a Student Ambassador, and was named an account executive for the 2005 Black Rock team in the AAF national student advertising competition. I also represented the University of Nevada at the 2003 Los Angeles Times Sports Journalism Workshop at Hollywood Park, and the 2004 Collegiate Sports Journalism Seminar at Churchill Downs.

Following graduation, I spent a year in Walnut Creek, Calif. as a public relations intern with the Pacific-10 Conference. I also spent several months in Boise, Idaho as a game operations and media relations assistant for the Boise State Broncos.
