I can't remember if I offered extra credit for a third story. But if you've written one, I'll give you extra credit. This class is about doing as much reporting as possible. That's how a writer gets skilled and efficient.

I've done my two stories from J week, but was there an option to do a third story for extra credit? One of the events I went to, I overheard some students talking about their third extra credit story...but I don't know if they were from our class.

Know the elements of a news story for our first test Feb. 19.
Also know: traditional news values or qualities, how to write a lead and/or nut graf, how to use quotes correctly. Study the words on the spelling quiz we did in class. The test will have questions and a writing component.
